people *do* know that there were Indian residential schools children were forced to go to in the US as well as Canada… right?
I actually didn’t know that. I thought it was upfuckery peculiar to Canada and Australia, while the atrocities in the US were more overt since there wasn’t the same rhetoric of assimilation for aboriginal peoples. My ignorance is a vast and shining sea, though.
